Family of Abijah Usher (1757-1836) who settled in the Hollis, Me., area shortly before 1800 and founded the lumber mills at Killick Pond. He was married twice, first to Mary Weld (1762-1791), and then to Rebecca Kidder in 1795. His sons, Ellis-Baker (1785-1855) and Abijah Usher (1788-1841), continued in the business and had sawmills at Bonny Eagle, Me.
